What's going on? Medlab this morning was strangely crowded, plus I've seen at least one mutant I don't recognize so far . . .

I did not say all was well. I said everything was under control, no one was hurt, and implied that the mansion was not going to blow up.

But congratulations, you've officially arrived. You're not a real resident of the school unless you've complained at least once that I don't tell the students what they need to know.

I thought the official arrival had to do with Mr. Marko yelling at you not to destroy the place.

Nah

The official arrival is when you do destroy the place. Added bonus for involvement of either siblings, or inter-dimensional beings.

I think Jennie's door covered the row with Marko, even if I did spend most of it hanging by my neck. As for siblings, I miraculously managed to avoid mine in coming here. Speak of dodging the bullet.

I was generalizing. Past experience indicates a tendency of adults to avoid giving an answer by total denial of the question. As I'm one of those rare individuals who can differentiate between "want to know" and "need to know," I consider "Sorry, can't talk about it" a better answer than "I don't know what you're talking about." (Not that either of these are a favourite option, but the one is a bit less offensive to my intelligence.)

Better to maybe generalize about something else. This particular topic's been done to death.
